For those folks who could not attend (and those who forgot to take notes) attached is the PowerPoint presentation given by Amy Mead regarding the new and exciting developments going on at the Arboretum. In addition to adding a garden that features many of the NCSU marketable propagated plants, there are plans to construct a 'Food Forest' on the site of the old garden beds.

Also while we were visiting the gardens, we noticed the use of pine needles for mulch and asked Amy about this. She has provided a link that makes the case that pine needles do not have a measurable effect on pH: Garden Myth Busters! Pine Needle Mulch
