🏷️Behind the Labels, Ahead of the Curve: Honoring Joanne Peck

For the month of February we are recognizing Joanne Peck as our Master Gardener of the Month.

In her short tenure as Botanical Garden Committee Chair, Joanne has fully immersed herself in the role by taking on the monumental task of recreating our plant ID markers. She has devoted an extraordinary amount of time and energy to this project—researching options for stakes, markers, and labels; presenting choices to the BG Committee; learning a new printer system; designing, ordering, and creating labels with QR codes; recruiting volunteers; and spearheading the update of all 18 Gardens.

Joanne is now working to build an accurate and user-friendly database, carefully verifying every plant detail before producing the labels. This comprehensive update and beautification effort will benefit the Garden for years to come.

Joanne is a force of organization, clarity, encouragement, and support. She leads with finesse, determination, kindness, and collaboration. The balance of these qualities strengthens both the Association and Extension in our shared mission of education and community building.
