🌸 Quiet Force, Lasting Impact: Honoring Linda Swanson

For the month of July we are recognizing Linda Swanson as our Master Gardener of the Month.

Linda Swanson has been a consistent figure in the Botanical Garden for more than 15 years!!!!!!! She can share a comprehensive history of the Botanical Garden developments, history and evolution, so chat her up and learn about the Botanical Garden. Linda started the Fragrance Garden and has also been a Lead in the Shady Native and Welcome Garden. She completely revamped the Welcome Garden  digging up what looked like hundreds of crocosmia and canna. She has the only topiary and espalier in the Botanical Garden. Linda specializes in plant identification and garden design and has done the Storybook trail for our younger visitors to the Garden for several years as well as donating her time to the Association as our Recording Secretary. She also has hobbies of frog watching and boating.

She is energetic, intelligent, has a wonderful sense of humor and a pleasure to work with.  She is a quiet force in the Association, claims herself as not a "meeting person", so her behind the scenes work and dedication are not often on public display. But today we want to draw attention to her and her dedication to the Extension, the Garden and the Association.

As a non-profit organization, we are dependent upon volunteers for the very life our plants, the Botanical Garden and our entire Master Gardener Community. We extend our appreciation, gratitude and overwhelming thanks to Linda Swanson and hope you will accept as a token of our appreciation the honor of being our Master Gardeners of the month for July 2025.
